Struggling with your social media presence? Remember that social media is an opportunity for your business or brand, not a challenge. Unlike traditional advertising, you have the opportunity to connect with your target audience directly. It requires your attention, but you do not have to spend all of your time on it. Here are some quick wins to help you increase your social media presence today:

Keep it close

Link your social media accounts to your smartphone or email to alert you to posts or comments that you need to respond to. If you are in a customer service industry, you’ll want to respond to and address concerns in a timely manner. If you receive a message, respond in less than 24 hours.

Stay consistent

Your “voice” changes depending upon the social media network you use, but it is important to use the same message on all networks. Are you pushing a service or an eBook? Pin that message to the top of your Twitter and Facebook pages. In addition, make sure you are using the same or similar profile and cover images.

Share content

All of your content should focus on enhancing your brand and sending users back to your website. Not every post will link to your website, but it should reinforce your brand.

Keep it regular

Plan and schedule all of your posts for the month, once per month. Thinking about what to post should not be a daily task. It wastes a lot of time. You will have much less worry if you plan your posts ahead of time.

Optimize your social media presence

How often you post depends upon the platform and your type of business. Some brands need to post daily on Facebook, others hourly on Twitter. Start slow and reassess.

You can review analytics and insights to determine which time of day and which days of the week work best for posting content. You can also observe the types of posts that work best.

Advertise your posts

Advertising on social media is relatively inexpensive compared to traditional media outlets, and can allow you to reach a targeted audience. On Facebook in particular, boosting a post that is doing well for a small amount of money can help you to reach hundreds, if not thousands of people.
